Re: Trying to use different standards in Judging Bush's people, and Obama's, that's what's not balanced, not fair, and not right. Using a double standard in judging those who agree with you, and those who don't. It's not fair and not right.

You're absolutely correct in what you say about double standards, but who is doing the character assassination to whom here? Is CBS claiming any of the Bush cabinet to be a "slum lord scum bag"? Is Jim Lehrer singling out and vilifying Cheney or Rumsfeld?

It's pretty much Fox News saying that the people Obama associates with are among the worst people in the news to talk about, and your the one putting them in the same company as KKK and the Black Panthers.

You can't accept smear campaigns against Van Jones and Mark Lloyd, and then complain about double standards when it comes to someone being critical about Glen Beck or Fox News. That in itself is a double standard.

Re: Freedom of speech and the press shouldn't be determined by what you or others think of what they say.

Right again, but notice that I have never said that Beck or Fox News should be denied Free Speech. I've merely agreed with the White House that their form of criticism shouldn't be labeled as "news". Big difference.

Re: To deny rights on that criteria is what? ... Fascism.

Which rights have been denied here? Do you think that Fox News has the *right* to be part of the White House press coverage? I don't think they do. I think being part of the press team is a privilege, and granted to those who cover balanced and impartial news - and I find the breadth of Obama's press team to be an indication that he is willing to invite a diversity of media networks with varying audiences.

The point of the press coverage is to report the news accurately. Fox News has plenty of opportunity to get the AP report, and add their commentary to it afterward, along with their criticisms.
