If you want my opinion..it's because the patent(s) isn't worth anything in the future, so they're collecting what they can on past infringements. Not trying to be negative but maybe someone has a better idea.
As technology evolves, todays hot ticket is tomorrows item for the Smithsonian.
Electronics changes so fast you have to grab the bull by the horns quickly.
There are better things than flash out there..it just needs a little more time.
So, if EDIG's forte is flash..it's only as good as long as it lasts.
EDIG did say they didn't have the manpower to collect on lisencing but that sounds like BS. If it's worth a lot of money you hire people for that.
