I doubt the market knows who will win the election. Kerry has a good shot and his win may in fact be better for the market. As for earnings season, many out there have losses for the year and any rally will be sold into going into an early tax loss selling season.
That is more or less what I originally had, but the elections are putting in more volatility than I expected (maybe the market knows, but it has the nillies with the polls showing Kerry making marginal progress).
