Saddam is gone, some serious oppression is lifted from those people. A tyrant in the area is eliminated. We should do the same for Iran, that would be real progress.
The benefits were eroded from traitors at home in the US who used the war as a weapon to help push themselves into power. They undercut the effort. Lied about how things were going, and basically killed support any way they could so we would lose and it would hurt the incumbent. Those who tried that stuff around WWII, got shot, and it was a good idea. Japan and Germany are much better off for our help, though people at the time said it wouldn't work, we couldn't help those people. We sure did.
Despots in the world had started to get the idea they better fly right, like Kadaffee how ever you spell it.
