I've been punished before for trusting the wrong people. I hope this is not a repeat.
You are correct that posting a job opening and then removing it would suggest that it has been filled, but wouldn't constitute employment.
I can only hope that isn't what's going on.
The other alternative, part time employees bothers me less. I have several of them and they work by the hour as needed. The savings are huge, no insurance requirements, 401K's or workman's comp. And no stock options. Each employee is essentially a business.
I don't think either of these things are going on here, however. Public companies have fiduciary responsibilities. And they have more stock holders than myself and you. Big institutions look under every rock before buying a single share. the government, wary of congressional oversight screens pretty thoroughly. I'm satisfied about this aspect of the employment picture.
Nevertheless, this is another thing behind the curtain.
