Drillbit.... I have to disagree about why the price of oil is raising.... Here's my take on it.

1. Too many different gas formulations required by different states making the refineries formulate by state.

2. Record profit by big oil companies.

3. Nervousness by the market that is unfounded.

I do agree, however, that the US has had it good as far as gas prices goes. Go to Canada, UK, Germany or any other developed nation and prices are much higher. We are too dependent on gas when there are great alternatives available to us. JMO

Glad I could amuse, Drillbit. Well said and opinion duly noted. valid points also form Casprs1. I would agree that all the points from both posts have merit, and are a multiplier in this equation, but if you think the massive profits of late are due to those reasons alone and big oil is not lining their pockets from some deal made back in late 99 or 00 my friend, then I have to say you are sadly mistaken. I stick by my point. Oil money put him there, and as with any investment, you expect a return.
