#27450 RE: eaglesurvivor #27445

eagle....I clicked the link and read the entire article....

here's my objection....

the concept of taxation is an entire package which encompasses specific levies upon the individual from the local thru the federal levels....plus an array of user/sales taxes....

with that thought in mind...the progressive tax system in use does not address the extent or quality of services rendered to the individual....everyone gets the same police, fire, first aid, street cleaning, etc, etc, etc.....

sooooo, the skew favors the lesser incomes because they are not paying a proportionate share, yet, they enjoy the same services rendered by the government.....

the logical conclusion seems to be the tax system by design favors the middle and lower income groups...and, in fact, the lower the income, the more free benefits you get....

while the above speaks more to the individual, a similar argument could be constructed for corporations....which ones create more jobs, spend more money for operations???....the answer is the large ones....

I will not argue everything that was was written was untrue....my argument is the "spin"....

the article would have you believe that the middle/ low incomes are subsidizing the rich.....how about leveling the playing field and beginning with the premise that everyone pays the same??? we know that's a no win situation for the middle classes.....where would the required money come from??? the lions share comes from the rich....but, that has been happening for so long, the lower income groups are lead to believe they are "entitled" to whatever contribution is made by the rich...

my contention is that the low and middle incomes deserve no tax breaks....only the rich "deserve" the breaks because they are the "goose that lays the golden egg" for the rest of the community/nation.

is that linear thinking.....maybe, but, apart from theoretic or academic discussions, the implementation of theory requires a pragmatic approach....the tone of this article suggestes that the middle "deserves" and keep taxing the rich....

is it linear thinking that we move in a particular direction to achieve a particular goal???....perhaps.....

and, lastly....i don't think it's from a secret societies play book.....i'm not good at analogies....but, the idea i wish to communicate is that there are a very finite ways of dealing with an adversary.....and, business competion is a kind of "warfare"....so, through out the ages, the same play is repeated over and over.....yes, it may have been done before....but, because it was done or suggested 100, 500, or 1000 years ago doesn't necessarily equate it to some historic diabolical plan....
