Batteries may be great and may be able to last longer in the future, my argument would simply be that the world is looking for green, as little to no pollution as possible, renewable energy, etc. Big difference between the two, even with battery technology is that algae actually reduces pollutants and other gases, it provides nutrition at a very low cost (bonus as world hunger is an incresingly huge issue) and how does battery power do the same. There seems to be more benefit in perfecting algae technology to this planet than battery power and in so many ways.
