well-put. I can comfortably agree with you - and like you said, it's a race at this point. Also, fuel will be needed for all sorts of reasons in the future; farm equipment, transport trucking, etc... not all will be easily converted to electricty... both horses will do very well :)
Again you are thinking solely about energy....Besides no wind no power, no sun no power, again algae is better IMO, but we will need all those to less dependent.
where I live in the past two years a new "power corporation" sprung up and now there are over 300 wind turbines :)... all in rural setting - each land owner that allows a turbine to be erected on their land gets paid rent plus a modest percentage of the profit... to the tune of $8 or 9 grand a year for each turbine
