I was thinking that their skills are very similar and with such overlap it is not that weird that one steps down.

That doesn’t explain the timing of the departure—when AASLD is right around the corner.

I’m not saying that something untoward is definitely going on, but neither am I ruling out such a possibility by assuming that Graves’ departure is personal and benign.

Tidbit from VRTX CC: 45 people have applied for Kurt Graves’ old job (head of commercial operations).

The new CEO, Emmens, is a commercial guy himself… I was thinking that [Graves’ and Emmens’] skills are very similar and with such overlap it is not that weird that one steps down.

So much for that hypothesis :- )
