Chris -- what is needed (among other things) is a law with substantial penalties for noncompliance that REQUIRES all vendors to PERMANENTLY DISABLE any RFID chips in products they sell at the time those products are sold to the consumer (AND requires that suppliers of those RFID chips to design them so that they can indeed be PERMANENTLY disabled WITHOUT damage to the products in which they're embedded, AND requires that consumers to be able to buy devices that will disable those RFID chips in products that they've bought)
