pt, I had a 1900% return in 10-months in 1999. Monkeys throwing darts were doing well then also.

My best since then was 352% in 2002. However, I've also had losses as well during my learning curve.

Excessive greed breeds excessive risk, IMO. If the risk is compartmentalized and controlled within established parameters, it's easier to control your greed.

If you are speaking of complete portfolio returns I would say it depends on the size of your portfolio and your ability to find opportunities ripe for acceleration to the upside.

Once one builds up a fair sized portfolio, it becomes poor money management to put a large percentage of the overall portfolio into high risk plays.
