My opinion is we should never torture for the simple reason that our enemies will do it too us...Even though they have always tortured our people anyway.

The people we are capturing on the battle field in Iraq and Afghanistan are civilians though..Not part of any govt backed military...There in lies the issue.

Is it a civilian crime or a war crime? They are not "soldiers" in the Geneva Convention sense of the word, yet they shouldnt go through a regular civilian court system since they are killing US military personnel.

Offering cigarettes and coffee to these guys doesnt work. The decisions the Bush Admin and their legal team made were not made easy nor were they made in a flippant manner.

How far should we go to protect our children and grand children against deranged, suicidal killers?
