I live in a tiny locale I affectionately (and derisively) call "Boogerville, MO".

I'm lucky to even have a phone out here. I have to pay $46 per line per month to have them, if that gives you an idea how remote I am.

I can get T-1 for $650, though. Which is very surprising. Not only the cost, but that they're willing to run all that wire to me (no way the local copper is good for that) without charging me more.

But as great a bargain as that is for T-1, I can't bring myself to do it. That's still a ridiculous price when my best friend 45 minutes away pays about $45 per month for his cablemodem.
