Shawn W. Smith is the founder and owner of VF Partners. After earning his BSBA in Finance and Financial Management from the University of Arkansas in 1992, he has spent 16 years in the professional community. During that time 10 years were spent working in the Oil and Gas industries in the areas of accounting, excise tax, M & A, financial analysis, supply and trading, and operations.
While working for a large, national retail propane company in Dallas, TX, Mr. Smith held the position of Senior Acquisition Analyst being directly involved in the valuation and execution of 35 acquisitions ranging in size from $300,000 to over $10,000,000. He also served as Director of Supply and Distribution being responsible for all commodities purchasing, futures trading, and hedging strategies usings financial derivatives such as swaps and options. In this capacity, he also built and maintained the company-wide financial forecasts including 76 different retail companies. Industries:

In addition, Mr. Smith has served as the finance/accounting Controller for several companies managing all areas of accounting, finance, payroll, human resources, business plans, acquisitions, banking, financial analysis, financial reporting, and forecasting/budgeting.
