well, obama has the incandescent smile and the wall of words, but for some reason his advisors are misreading which message needs to be delivered.
I really don't like politics much, but this health care thing is getting so muddled that even CNN can't figure out how to help him.
Things like "cost savings"/// sure, great idea, but those of use with $2.98 calculators want some data. Does anyone actually believe a politician who says that costs will be lessened somehow, yet a trillion over 10 years is needed?
Just level with us, and gauge the reaction... can't be any worse than it is now, and might just garner some respect. Americans don't like being slicked when it is their money at stake. The real far right doesn't even like themselves much, so they were never really even going to be much of a factor until Rahm dropped a huge gift horse in their laps by not putting a clear message in the obamapromptor.
As Maher said, if they had called it "medicare for everyone" to simplify it, it would have already passed. But simplicity of message was not to be. (and NO became easier to understand for most)
I hope Rahm learns this lesson well, because he better start coming up with a clean line for Afganistan, because that will be the next one... a lot of people are fed up with war. We don't even know how we would know if we won.
