In the end if we are to restore confidence in the markets ,we need to address more than the Bernie Ebbers of the world. Hedge fund regulation(like mutuals) and more stingent rules for short selling itself may be called for. Feds have ability to set margin requirements, shorting on upticks etc.
IS there room to tweak, to create some more investor confidence. Investor confidence is a good thing, no? mike
