you just have to have 2000.00 to open the margin... 500 to open a cash account. Freetrader is the way to go but you have to meet that 2 year electronic trader thing.... I had an account for 6 years but in the wife's name so they tell me I got to wait.

i dunno scottrade you have to pay premiums on penny trades thats why i dont like it.

i think best brokerages go as follows:

1) freetrade
2) ameritrade
3) mytrack
4) etrade
5) scottrade
