No, Kerry and the libs attempted to turn the funding of our troops into a political shot against Bush by repealing some of the Bush tax cut in the funding plan. This was a blatant attempt to try and embarass Bush and the Republicans after the hard work they did to get the tax cut through.
Bush and the Republicans felt the two issues should be separate, and I agree. I'm sick of the crap in Washington where they throw a bunch of extra junk in a very popular bill, hoping it can piggy back on the important legislation. This is essentially what Kerry and co. did.
The funding for Iraq and the tax cuts are two totally separate, huge issues, and should be treated as such. Kerry should be ashamed, but then again, this is what the Democratic party has become--political grandstanding.
