You are talking out of your behind as that would not be their option. If it was they should go out of business because they would be terrible at it. I have owned businesses and do own businesses. If their total salary was 370k and they are making 3% net (I suspect that their sales are at least 750K)then that would bring them down to break even but this is business ans you don't have a clue of what laying off 3 people might get them now do you?
Of course with your business acumen you think the person hiring those employees should be able to underpay the employee and make money on being underpayed. Do you have clue on how much it costs one of that business's employees health care for a family - Here in MA from a private insurer about 12K minimum. So that business person is telling his employees to fork over 12K for ones with a family and about $5k for ones without. Doing 50% of each that's 90K his employees would have to shell out for health insurance and all he would have to pay is $18K into a plan where his employees could pay group rates and much less.
Now what business owner would not want to do that - beside a cheapskate and uncaring person and very very poor business person?
NOT TRUE - easy to see why - take a look at the states with the highest taxes ... now tell me .. are they all moving to Alabama, Arkansas , Mississippi, Montana, Tenn etal ? ...
............uh no. some how the people in the states with the highest populations, along with the highest taxes are just still not moving to kansas .. .........
