MM's are not that smart. They would be retired and living the good life if they were.

This stock, as all stocks, is likle everything else. Supply and demand. The supply was greater than the demand today. More sellers than buyers. Had to take a lower pps to sell them.

Besides, naked shorting is illegal now.

I agree. I believe today was one of those days. Lots of sales on the bid 0.005 off of the ask and it moved when the price moved. Very. Very. Obvious I've seen it many times. I just hate it on a real company like EXPH. But I suppose that's the way it will be from now on.
