It doesn't matter what Bush does, the religious right will render unto Dubya. Remember, this is good vs evil, and god is on our side. If Bush is doing the work of the Almighty, who are we to question? Unconditional support is justified, and nationalism is patriotism in Bush's America.

Rove is so damn good! Proof anything can be marketed. Even bull crap can be sold as a good thing.

>>He obviously qualified for all 3.<<

I don't see how you can state that. From the link you posted.

3) When contemplating an award of this decoration, the key issue that commanders must take into consideration is the degree to which the enemy caused the injury.

(5) Examples of injuries or wounds which clearly do not qualify for award of the Purple Heart are as follows:

g) Accidents, to include explosive, aircraft, vehicular, and other accidental wounding not related to or caused by enemy action.

(h) Self-inflicted wounds, except when in the heat of battle, and not involving gross negligence.

Looking at the criteria I would say that all three are somewhat questionable.

bnb....

Ok, I read the entire set of rules governing the awarding of Purple Hearts, and see Kerry marginally qualifying for only the second of the three Purple Hearts, although I still think that it is quite a stretch to be awarded one for a bruise. The other two were neither the result of enemy action or fire, nor "in the heat of battle."
