Besides his natural irresponsibility, drug usage still stands as best reason why he didn't complete his guard duty. Other flyers have said the story he gave about not finishing his flight time is bogus. Can't fly when you are doing drugs. He didn't even take required physicals. Drug usage would have been on record then.
I don't know of anything he has told the truth about. Certainly don't buy the "hadn't done it in 25 years by y2k" storyline.
