Monsanto and Dow will release their SmartStax program next year for corn for about 4 million acres. This program will incorporate Dow's underground insect control with Monsanto's above ground technology. It's estimated that the corn will only need about 5% of its normal insecticide.

This is a significant partnership but it’s not the catalyst sought by the quiz, which is something capable of boosting MON’s share price without help from anyone (or anything) outside the company.
