Working in the insurance industry, I can attest to that. IMO 9/11 ended up being a windfall for the insurance companies because afterwards they could pretty much charge whatever they wanted for commercial insurance and now companies have to add an endorsement to their policies for terrorism coverage at the beginning of the policy term. If they decide that they don't want the additional coverage they can NOT add it until the the next renewal date. Most businesses (especially in the NYC area where we have clients) cannot take the chance of being without it so they add it to the policy in addition to the huge premium that they are already paying.
