OT-- The guy who taught me to respect hurricanes was a pretty famous guy in Florida, named John Pennekamp. He told me that when they came out of their 3rd storey house, after the hurricane of 1935 (I think) in the Florida keys, they found a woman who had sought refuge in a tree from the storm surge that washed over Key Largo.
He said that she was found wedged in the top of the tree, dead, literally skinned alive buy the sand blast effect from the storm. That storey, along with several others-one being that the sustained sound of a hurricane can drive people mad- probably saved my life in Andrew, because I had been forewarned and took my family to a place of safety.
BTW, 5 hours of that noise during Andrew very unpleasant.
