Yes, strange isn't it. The right-wingers who dominate party ideology were safely hidden out of sight. They trotted out social liberals, and called themselves the party of moderates, the big tent. There was no mention of the middle class, maybe because there's fewer and fewer of them. The problem of underfunding pales in comparison to No Child Left Behind's ideology, of overstandardization and focus on rote learning.

Also facinating, especially in light of the swift boat bs, was the fact that mention of VietNam was deliberately omitted. There was much focus on war. WW I and WW II were mentioned as well as Korea, but I heard no mention of VietNam. In fact, LB referenced all three with no mention of VietNam. Wonder how the swift boaters felt about that?

There was also no mention of budget deficits either. Republicans have traditionally been the party of lesser spending and fiscal restraint. Bush spends like a drunken sailor, or should I say drunken guardsman?
