Forget the fact that Bush squandered all post 9/11 goodwill, and united the world against us. Forget the fact that Bush took us into an unnecessary war based on false pretenses, and in doing so destabilized the entire middle east. Forget the fact that 1000 Americans have already lost their lives as well as tens of thosands of Iraqis. This is benevolent hegemony. Forget the fact that this mess has/will cost hundreds of billions. And forget about Bush's reckless spending because that's another issue. Right?

>>>The difference between the Republicans playing the 9/11 card and Kerry playing the war hero card is that, unlike Kerry, the Republicans aren't rewriting history.<<<

If that's the only difference you see, then let me help you see the bigger picture. Republicans are pounding away on terror and 9/11 for two reasons:

1. They have no other issues to talk about that has broad appeal.

2. It keeps reinforcing fear in the electorate which makes them gullible and easy to control.

Millions of people lost their collective heads on 9/11 and still haven't found them. Look at Ed Koch, lifelong liberal who yesterday stated he disagrees with Bush on every single issue except the war on terror but that's good enough for a vote for Bush. Just the kind of irrational thinking the right is creating with the 24/7 drumbeat of fear and they may well win the election with it.
