All they would need to do would be to lift the gag on the TA. The transparency would reveal the true share count which would make it much easier to determine if there was a short position. The other side of that though, is that shareholders would have a true share count. For whatever reason, the company doesn't want them to have those numbers.
They know about it, anyone with more than two functioning brain cells does, whether they admit it or not. Yes, there is something they can do. When? All in due time.
