Matt & Bob, I'am still on Windows 3.1 where the DOS Prompt
is alive & well and exists before the windows environment.
---
I'am able to run some 32 bit programs using
C:WINDOWS\SYSTEM\WIN32S
and i have no experience on Windows 95 or later
and heard that you can go into a DOS environment
from the Windows, but the person telling me did not
really understand what i was asking. My question
is that i'am able to run a few 32 bit programs using
that above extra software, but can you with the latest
run any Windows 3.1 16 bit executable programs?
I wanted a search program to look into text files,
and found that few did anything much helpful.
This would only be of interest to you and Bob if you
are able to enter a DOS like prompt and access files
without any special characters like in those fancy editors
files that are created. Simple text files that can go straight
to a printer. If so, and if your new Windows can run a program
created for Windows 3.1 (not the WIN32S stuff, but i guess
a backwards version to allow 16 bit to be executed.)
If so then i have a text search program i made that does
a little more than i found available. I could e-mail it to you
as an attached file, as i already did this and it made it ok
when i sent it to another person a few years ago.
Follows are the help displayed on the screen.
