I note that Kerry has been getting a ton of money lately -- even more than the Bushies perhaps.
Most of this obviously is coming from elite sources. Many at the top consider Bush an embarrassment.
But I also suspect that the more intelligent among them realize that another four years of Bush has the potential to radicalize much of the population with unpredictable consequences for the fundamental stability of the system.
But a Kerry win could trigger the same set of events if he makes just marginal and tactical changes in the Bush policies at a time when only bold measures on a par with what FDR did in the 1930s can head off massive instability at home and abroad IMHO.
