TJ, i tend to rationalize things too much in too many cases, but actually i find i trade better (when i do trade) by "listening to my gut". which i take to mean that there's some part of my brain that's digesting the data and analyzing it and coming up with an answer. and even if i can't verbalize the whole process, it seems to be doing the right thing.
I agree, don't know why but it works and perhaps indeed, our brains know what's right even when we don't-
