Mine wasn't for sale either. Then they added a zero, and another zero, and several hundred thousand shares of stock in their company, and a position with their company for two years with stupid money (it wasn't enough for all the bs) and I got to retain the local part of my company, just not the international portion.
So I said, when and where!
After 6 months I told my wife I had it with them and I convinced them I had gotten the operations in the US transferred over ahead of schedule - which I had and I quit. Not enough money in the world to keep putting up with them. They were Australian. I love the Aussies and we're all good friends now but back then it was getting tough being friends. Just goes to show money, regardless of how much you have, cannot buy you happiness!
It can rent it awhile though! - LOL
