If I recall correctly, the orange county site linked in the ibox mentions up to 20 years per count.

My opinion is that there is firm basis' to set an example here, as well as broaden the investigation. Imagine how many additional counts may be there outside of that rather brief timeframe. And how many others could end up facing similar charges.

Would make a person spilling the beans spill even more, and even faster imo.

The charges against Matt are Offense Level 4 , so it would be important to know the level of severity that a ' 4 ' means .

I had a chat about that with a lawyer friend who posts on IHub. Apparently it's complicated; so complicated I didn't fully understand the answer. But it seems that level 4 can be, and often is, converted to a higher level at some point in the proceedings.
