TO ordinarydude: re "suckers"

Note that I tend not to give a personal view regarding the topics being discussed. My posts since 1999 tend to be informational with links.

However, I did want to say that I agree with you that in-experience, or even buying a lotto ticket now and then, does not mean you are a sucker.

Well, maybe only to the criminals looking for easy pockets to pick.

I'm changing the subject to give you a better understanding of why I think folks are responding to your opinions (the way they do), Phil.

I'm going to try to make this as short a post as I can, given the subject matter, and try to give you an understanding of why I don't care about what people think about my posts.

The only difference between message boards and a telephone call is that you can read the message over and over on message boards, where with phone calls, once you hang up, and unless you record the call, the call is done.

The same message can be transmitted, but with written word versus spoken word, it is/can be, interpreted differently.

That said, people are, for the most part, gullible, positive thinkers, and easily taken advantage of.

Therefor, easy prey for scammers.

I have been scammed in my life. I don't deny it. But I learned from my mistakes. I didn't blame the scammers. I blame myself for allowing them to scam me.

Why should I expect anyone to be any different than me?

Phil

There are many people out there who simply do not have the financial acumen or the time to scrutinize their investment portfolios, etc like you would.

Then those people should not play the market, they should buy CDs and bonds instead, or put the money in a roth IRA or 401K. There are a lot of options for people who don't have the intestinal fortitude for doing DD on a stock.
