After a positive visit earlier this week, Dick Vermeil told the KC Star his team has made a contract offer to Keenan McCardell. He added that the Chiefs are the leading contender to sign the coveted free agent. "We're still No. 1 on his list," Vermeil told the Star. "There has been a proposal presented. Now we have to wait and see what he decides." McCardell reportedly seeks a deal that includes a $5.5 million signing bonus.

If McCardell joins Johnnie Morton and Tony Gonzalez in KC's passing game, Trent Green might just move closer to the top five, where we had him ranked before last season. McCardell has 1,000-yard potential in KC.
