Ucant, I know you ask Mozy but you might look at esosoft.com as a out source server. We use them and found them to be a great company to work with........My only concern would be they might not be large enough to be a out source server for Exobox....Perhaps I've shown my ignorance.......Tiger

Excellent Questions there Ucantfoolme. Since Exobox Management remains to be completely secretive in regards to product details & status, I can only speculate at this point. So let's begin...

Exobox HQ is approximately 5,200 sq feet, occupying the entire 2nd floor. Factoring in conference room, lunch room, restrooms, front lobby, & a couple of executive offices, this leaves very little space left for the coders who are in cubicals. I figure there's probably enough room left over for approximately 45-60 seatings, which may include an Accounting, & Customer Service Dept. Taking everything into consideration, I really doubt they are housing a datacenter at Exobox HQ.

Taking into consideration that they have literally no funding & capital it also very doubtful that they are developing a datacenter themselves. In the IT world, we do not work with vendors with only 1 datacenter, unless the services or application is not mission-critical. We always perfer at least 2, but 3 datacenters is perferred and located in different US states. In case of a natural diaster, such as an earthquake, there is a backup site that will ensure services are performing, regardless if 1 site goes down. With this in mind and lack of funding, I am doubtful that Exobox are even considering about hosting their DLP services themselves.

In my opinion, Exobox is outsourcing the services of their DLP product through a hosting company. If they do proceed with this route, the Hosting Company already has the capacity, reputation, & reliability to provide the Exobox Solution Services to customers. I would imagine that the Hosting Company will get a fee for their services. How much remains a mystery. If Exobox plans to deliver their solution with HIGH Expectations of being successful, then are grouped up with a Hosting Company who are a customer of BMC Software, utilizing their Application on Enterprise Mainframes. My question is if Exobox has even approached BMC Software? We have what? 4 Former BMC High-Profile Executives?

Possibilities:
1.) BMC Software provides IT Management Solutions deliveriable via On-Customer Site (Traditional Server/Client Model) or via cloud (SaaS).
2.) Cisco might be another candidate as they have just started the Server Realm and may provide "promotional" period with incredible pricing. They are also a partner of BMC Software. However, Cisco purchased a DLP Company last year, which should be a conflict of interest.
3.) EMC might be another possibility, but so are any of BMC's customer & partners. With the employeed former BMC High-Profile Players on board at Exobox, their relationship & network is wide open. By the way.. EMC also purchased a DLP company in 2007.
