We have a retractable awning over our deck that extends from the kitchen BUT the BBQ is not allowed on the deck in the summer...don't ask. So I get dressed up in rain gear & stand there like a freakin' idiot on the patio in the rain with an umbrella in one hand and tongs in the other waiting for lightning to hit me while I BBQ.
