I am not a believer that the redistribution of wealth creates a better economy or even a better society. Taking cash from the creators of wealth and distributing it to the consumers of wealth hampers the very capital reinvestment that would lead to more jobs and more prosperity for all, in addition to creating a social class which begins to think having their hands in someone else's pocket is their God-given right.
Now wait a minute - how would this not hurt the low income people? If you institute a flat tax, the wealth will get more and more concentrated at the top.
Reread your post, I think you will see that you are contradicting yourself. I agree about elimination of many loopholes, but absolutely disagree with the regressive flat tax. No way a person making $10k a year should have to pay $2000 in taxes in order to lower the tax burden on the rich.
