*** Gold related post (SUR.V) ***

Hi choad,
Since you seem so down, I thought I'd try to brighten your evening with this recent post from the Stockhouse SUR.V message board.

Earl,

Many thanks for your questions.

I have addressed your questions below and as the information is public please feel free to post the information on the Internet chat site as I am sure there is still much misinformation.

Hi Rennie;

(Is there anything you can tell me about your trip to the Philippine properties?)

My trip went exceptionally well and we formulated revised strategies as a result of the developments over the last 6 or so months. in particular the steady increase in the number of veins has enabled production (via bulk metallurgical testing) to proceed much faster than we originally anticipated.

(Interested to know about the bulk samples, geo survey, and the trial mining.)

We have effectively replaced our bulk sampling with channel samples every two metres along the veins. At this time this appears to be the method we intend to use in the future as the data can be used for future resource and reserve calculations as well as providing a pretty reliable check on mill head grades.

The geophysical survey is about half completed and as previously stated we have discovered new potential targets to the north of Batoto in the Panag area. The crew is now at Batoto and reportedly are, as expected detecting wide zones of anomoalous chargeability (sulphides normally associated with gold).

The trial mining is proceeding faster than we anticipated and we are now producing gold bars every day. We have more equipment arriving shortly (eg compressors, jackhammers, generators and a larger truck-30 tonne to complement our 3.5 tonne truck that we currently use). The metallurgical recoveries are continuing to be more than 90% with very low reagent consumptions as a result of the Batoto/Tarale mineralization being very clean ie nothing that hinders recoveries.

When the new equipment arrives we should be able to significantly expand our output. Accordingly SUR is now a producer-albeit small but after only 12 months of work we have achieved our first goal!

Work is also going along very well at T'Boli and we also anticipate production from T'Boli by the end of 2004.

I'll have a lot more to say on this shortly.

(Couldn't the workers at least get a slimhole hand drill and drill down 25 ft or so and see if the veins increase
in bonanza values below the surface? I realize that they are sampling the old tunnels.)

No need as we are already completely convinced that the high grade mineralization continues deep. In the Clark exploration crosscut we have discovered a very wide zone of high grade mineralization (more than 10g/t gold) which is 50 METRES BELOW THE SURFACE. The mineralization from this crosscut is being fed to the Monkayo plant for processing and initial results suggest excellent metallurgy and grades comparable to our channel samples. In addition a few of the development tunnels of the veins in the Tarale zone are now 20-30 metres vertically below the surface so the depth continuation of the high grade veins is proven. Dont forget the old open cut also proved that the mineralization continues to depth. The geophysics will also do the same I am sure!

Incidentally we are not sampling old tunnels as you suggest. All our tunnels are new and based on our own discoveries.

Best regards

Rennie
