Irwin,

I understand your point all too well. You say "...Your missing my point your system simply put is based on bands and AIM money managment for your buy and sell signals."

Only in a very general sense. The deviation bands are a totally unique development in technical analysis. Meaning X_DEV is the only place you will see them presently. They are in no other software package, or on any other website. Also, the money management structure of X_DEV, while similar in principle to AIM is vastly different in it's construction as well. It is designed to accentuate the overall performance of the X_DEV system and is a very integral part of it. You could not use Aim's money management system on X_DEV, nor could you use X_DEV's money management system on AIM. They are both part of totally different algorithm's.

I understand your point of thinking to substitute Bollinger bands for the deviation bands to get nearly the same effect, but you won't. Not even close. How do I know? I've tried them. I've also tried Keltner Bands, Price channels, Moving average channels, Envelopes, and other trading bands based on a variety of indicators. The X_DEV system is built around deviation bands. The math for deviation bands is different from every other type of band I just mentioned.

Perhaps someone can develop a system using Bollinger Bands and a money management construct that would compliment the use of Bollinger Bands, but there is no way you can substitute them for Deviation bands and get the same performance.

And if you think you can successfully trade with any consistency by just using Bollinger Bands for your buy and sell signals......well.....more power to you! I've been a student of TA for more than 20 years, and I haven't seen anyone that has successfully traded for any length of time by using one standard TA indicator, especially without any type of money management system to compliment it.

Irwin, please help....
I have Tradestation and plotted Bollinger Bands on QQQ.
I used settings of 14 with bands at 2.0 for outer and 1.5 for inner. How did you come up with your buy/sell numbers?
I am looking at the data view window for the bands and don't get same numbers as you. Maybe I missed something in a previous post?
Thanks
