#88918 RE: spec machine #88915

Fair enough and perhaps the wrong way to phrase my thoughts.

The point was more to the EFFECT that we as shareholders should be TRYING to educate ourselves about where we invest our dollars.

Much like we all have different educational backgrounds, but all have a common thread in knowing ABC, 123.

Nonetheless, point taken!

Spec, understanding SEC filings will certainly make you a better investor. It seems overwhelming on the surface, but if you take a few moments to sit down and review some things and understand how SEC docs are broken down you will realize just how easy it is to break them down. If you go into thinking it is to complicated you will never be able to understand it.

I started out just like most on this message board. I however read everything I could and eventually started my own IR/Promo firm. I realized I didn't like doing it too much (dealing with penny traders can be frustrating) and now I do private consulting and help private companies go public.

Here are some key things to help understand filings. First the regulations, understanding what is required will help learning how to break it down. http://www.law.uc.edu/CCL/regS-K/index.html

Using blank forms, then cross referencing each section to the regulation above will describe in detail what each section provides. Once you have spent some time reviewing the forms, you will find out just how easy it is to break them down.
