"A chess player tries to foresee all possible consequences to a move he is about to make. It goes without saying, that he would change his plan if he saw that his next move would jeopardice his plan, which is, of course, to win the game."

Good analogy. If God did not know what man was going to do, He would indeed need to change His game plan. However, with God that is not the case -- Since God knew from the beginning what every man (not just Adam) would do, He has no need to revise His plan to accommodate the actions of His opponent -- ever.

"Which brings me to "God's Plan" which you so often mention. As I understand it, it is to gather the "army of the faithful" around "Him" for all eternity...."His" throng of believers. Knowing what would happen, one can only conclude that "God's Plan" was a trial by fire, know that most would fail."

To that point in your overall statement, I agree with you. Although it is an oversimplification, it is correct as far as it goes.

"The statement that "God" loves all and wishes all could be saved then becomes insincere, gratuitous, empty words spoken to the losers of a game show. You can't have it both ways and be honest."

With this statement, I strongly disagree, and can only conclude that you find the statement lacking because you want it to be so.

Your argument apparently centers on free will -- the capacity to choose either to sin or not to sin. Without free will, how is it possible for God's people to demonstrate a desire to obey, honor, and love Him?? He does not even require that they make the right choice all the time, or even most of the time, since He has provided the way for all their sins to be forgiven, by the substitutionary death of Jesus on the cross. By dying on the cross, He paid in full the penalty for ALL their sins. Since He went to such great lengths to provide a way for ANY sinner to have their sins forgiven, how can you say that ""God" loves all and wishes all could be saved" then becomes insincere, gratuitous, empty words spoken to the losers of a game show?? That makes no sense unless you just say it because you want it to be true.

I am being "honest" when I profess both statements to be true -- they are most definitely not mutually exclusive. It appears to me that it is your statement that is lacking in "honesty".
