In the light of Myst's epiphany in post# 781, this may just turn into only an "academic" discussion.

My StockCharts example chart shows exactly what I was trying to show. Notice that the red EMA line is behind (in time) the blue SMA line (in time). All I am showing, and writing about is slowing down the EMA in time to match the TIME LAG of the 12 day SMA.
