But the real question here is, even though you know the pumper is lying, would you still buy the stock? Are people inherently predisposed to do good selflessly, or to do evil selfishly?
Is it bad to be a selfish simmer if you don't believe there is a deity to absolve you of your sins? Or is it better to not even realize that you have sinned?
BTW, that bit about virgin birth is a minority view, even in the Bible itself. The Bible is a collection of stories, and at its base it is an astrology manual. Belief in a deity does not have to be linked to a single Bible, and surely needs not imply any power that can override science.
But our Commander in Thief believes in no power greater than himself. To him, lesser powers can all be gamed, even the weather. That's the very definition of an atheist.
