When I said that "God gave us hormones so that we would desire our partner in marriage", it was a compilation of the teaching of many passages.
Obviously, hormones are not mentioned in Scripture, but since the purpose of the hormones in question is to promote lust or desire, then we can safely say that God's purpose in giving us hormones is to produce physical desire for our spouse. It is the consistent teaching throughout Scripture, both Old Testament and New, that God prohibits sex outside of marriage, so the object of Godly sexual desires has to be our spouse.
I could spend the next hour or two looking up verses to substantiate the above, but it would be easier if you would tell me any part of the above which is not self evident or is not within your understanding of Scripture, and I will furnish you with verses for those.
