EMC vs. VMW 90 day chart reflects VMW pulling up EMC. Recent movement may not reflect the buy out rumor, IMO, just a safe bet on the upcoming earning calls. VMW earnings announcement is April 22.
When establishing a fair market price for EMC, you have to take into account the like price for VMW since EMC owns 85%. Tucci recently said he has no intention of a spin-off. I previously placed a fair price for EMC at $18, but that was then and the present market conditions only raise the premium, IMO, till year end.
