Zeev, a possible biotech play for you....
I don't know if you remember, but several months ago, I suggested taking a look at SYNA when it was in the low teens.
Might I now suggest taking a look at ENMD?
You may remember this company from a few years back. Their former lead drug candidates (endostatin and angiostatin) were hyped to the heavens by the media following a NY Times article in which the author quoted James Watson as predicting that Judah Folkman (on whose work the research of Entremed is based) would "cure cancer" in a couple of years.
Well, all of the hype (which was the result of media attention, not company self-promotion) eventually lead to a backlash of skepticism, and when early clinical results were interpreted as disappointing, ENMD got slammed, going from trading in the 80's to sub-dollar territory for a while.
But there has always been more to Entremed than just the media hype. IMHO, it's always been a company based on real science (the anti-angiogenesis theory of cancer treatment). Anyway, the coming year could be a very important one. Its lead product candidate (Panzem), which has been in Phase I trials, has been reformulated to enhance bioavailability and this new formulation will enter trials soon. I believe they have enough money to get through at least 2005. The company's new CEO is focusing on strategic partnerships.
And even if you don't buy the fundamentals, the stock appears to be breaking out, apparently on no news. Maybe something is happening? I have no idea. Worth a look anyway.
Disclosure: I'm long.
