Yes its shocking when this guys come up with drill baby drill when the they know its not sustainable. I work in oil and gas upstream sector as an engineer. The only way we can drill our way out it to use the natural gas. The crude supply is limited and refining is another addition.
For natural gas all you need is a gas plant and pipeline network. We have enough natural gas for 250 years but we never invested in our pipeline infrastructure.
When the gas well is flowed, its goes through scrubbers, then a compressor unit and glycol dehydration system. After that you can do gas to liquid or just use it directly as compressed natural gas CNG.
Why go through all the pain when you have the sun, which can supply GIGAWATT of power from solar panels on commercial and residential rooftops.
