You hit the nail on the head. If the "group" of "organized longs" were so convinced that there was something going on, they'd "band together" and go to Hunsaker and say "I have 10 of us, with $10K each, we're creating our own 'group' and we want to purchase $100K worth of shares from you in a private placement."
Considering that's more than they raised in the ENTIRE FOURTH QUARTER OF CALENDAR YEAR 2008, I'd say he would be up for it. I'm sure at a healthy (but not healthier than the notes that are in DEFAULT) discount to market, no less.
In my opinion, the only reason a group would NOT do that is if they really were doing the buys and sells to make the trading "appear" to be a certain way.
